As a parent, you’ll be interested to know about how we work with your son / daughter and their school or college.
It may be that your son or daughter is studying towards a flexible or reduced timetable and are looking for alternative options for educational provision. Our Student Transition to Employment Programme may be a solution – click here for more details.
We work with over 300 schools/colleges and educational organisations in Lancashire and create career development opportunities for 40,000 young people each year. We create opportunities which prepare young people for working life and give them the opportunity to taste what life after school is like.
Our programmes give real life relevance to the curriculum and help young people to make informed choices about their future. Our excellent links with the business community enables us to link young people with employers in areas of industry which appeal to them and reflect individual strengths in the classroom.
We also run workshops and initiatives with schools and colleges that develop personal and social skills, (personal learning and thinking skills) help prepare young people for interviews and give them a chance to learn what’s expected of an employee.
One of the main areas we work with young people is through our work experience programme, which usually lasts two weeks. This is an exciting opportunity for your son / daughter to broaden their experience and translate what they’ve learnt in the classroom and at school to everyday working life.
