Lancashire Education Business Partnership is a registered charity, positively committed to building bridges between the education and business communities across Lancashire. We have an overwhelming commitment to help develop the students of today to become the workforce of tomorrow and help businesses become a vital cog in the community, driving the education system forward.
We are one of the largest Education Business Partnerships in the country, working closely with over 20,000 businesses, 450 schools and colleges and over 40,000 students each year through our extensive range of products and services.
The work we do is highly relevant to the times, both socially and economically, adapting to meet government policy changes, but also focused on bringing the very best out of the students, honing the skills and experiences they need to get a firm grip in the world of work. We arrange Work Experience for over 15,000 students each year, and deliver hundreds of different and often bespoke Work-based and Work-related Learning programmes. We are a market leader in the region, the partner of choice for building mutually beneficial links between education and business.
Don’t just take our word for it though; in 2009 we were one of the first organisations in the country to achieve the Award for Education Business Excellence which recognises the scope and scale of all our organisation’s activities are underpinned by a commitment to excellence. The award is facilitated by the Institute for Education Business Excellence and accredits organisations to the Department for Education (DfE) National Standard for Education Business Partnership Organisations. It recognises the high standards achieved by Lancashire Education Business Partnership in all our work connecting education and the world of work for the benefit of young people in the area.
Our work is fundamental to the development of the region. By investing in the talents of tomorrow’s workforce, we ensure the future potential of the economy where we live and work. Through various projects we also engage with the voluntary and community sector to build capacity and infrastructure to allow the third sector to form partnerships, access training, information and funding as well as supporting them with their business developments.
We have recently merged with CXL, a social business who aim to help people move forward in work and life and help employers develop their staff. This exciting union will enhance and streamline careers and employment advice and opportunities for people across the county.
CXL, based in Leyland is formed out of Connexions Lancashire in 2007, with a primary purpose to provide careers and employment services to young people and adults. CXL delivers the Connexions Service in Blackburn with Darwen and the nextstep service which help adults into employment or training across Lancashire. CXL also works closely with business to help them develop their workforces and grow in size, or downsize and deal with redundancies. (www.cxl-uk.com)
Both organisations work to build bridges between education and business communities and provide high quality careers information, advice and guidance to adults and young people.
